New Zealand Resumes Visa Processing; Welcoming International Travelers
New Zealand has taken a significant step towards normalcy by reopening its borders to international travelers. The New Zealand eTA was also introduced for citizens of visa-waiver countries who plan to travel to New Zealand. With that being said, visitors from over 50 visa-waiver countries, such as the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and South Korea, are eligible for this eTA. This decision comes as a relief to many, including international students and tourists, who were eagerly waiting to visit the country. Prime Minister Jacinda Arden hailed the move as an "enormous moment," although it was implemented in stages and with caution.

The maritime border has also reopened, allowing eligible travelers to enter the country by sea. Those who hold work, working holiday, visitor, and student visas, as well as visa-waiver travelers, are now permitted to leave and return to New Zealand, subject to their visa conditions.
Although there are no quarantine requirements in the country, international travelers are strongly advised to present proof of vaccination to enter the country. The reopening of New Zealand's borders is a significant step forward, and it is hoped that it will boost the country's economy and tourism industry.
